[vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text]There is nothing worse than a toothache! The pain can be excruciating like nothing else felt before. So what do you? What will make you feel better?

Obviously visiting your dentist is probably the most obvious choice, but unfortunately a toothache doesn’t work on regular business hours and the pain can start at any given moment.

Besides the obvious over-the-counter pain medications there are a variety of home remedies that may help lessen the pain. Here are a few quick and probably quickly available options:

Salt Water

A teaspoon of salt dissolved in a cup of boiling water can become a powerful remedy for a toothache. Simply swish the water in your mouth for about 30 seconds and then spit out. Salt water works well as it able to draw out some of the fluid that causes the tooth area to swell up.

Peppermint Tea

Not only does peppermint tea have a nice flavor to it but it can also act as a numbing agent. With this remedy, put 1 teaspoon of dried peppermint into a cup of boiling water and steep for about 20 minutes. After the tea cools, swish it around in your mouth and either spit it out or swallow it.

Ice

By placing small ice cubes into a compact plastic bag and wrapping a thin cloth around the bag and applying to the aching tooth area can help relieve some of the pain that the nerves are experiencing. If that becomes to complicated you can always grab an ice pack from your freezer and apply it on your cheek over the tooth.

At Fresh Dental Smiles we can help alleviate the pain permanently. For a quick fix though these above options may just do the trick![/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][vc_column_text][/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
